The Japanese G4M needs some tweaking. The Aircraft was famous for how vulnerable it was to fighters. US pilots called it the flying Zip-O or flying lighter because of how easy it was to light on fire. Their combat record against fighter aircraft or Anti-aircraft fire was terrible. Flying without armor, adequate guns or self sealing fuel tanks it was an easy victim. The Aircraft was effective against two British battleships without adequate Anti-arircraft screening or Aircraft support. However, it was much less effective against US carrier battle groups in the Solomon Islands.
24 unescorted G4Ms against a alerted battle group with over 40 F4F Fighters overhead should be easily defeated. The game model frequently yields very different results. I usually see 4-12 G4M downed and one sunk carrier. These results are not similar to observed results from the actual events of the Coral Sea, Guadalcanal or Solomon Islands battles. Also, there are way too many units of G4M in the Guadalcanal battle.
