This could be a good candidate for next major version before the 2-players game comes out


Generation
The weather generation may be inspired by Flat Top
Clouds are generated randomly on map
Winds will move them. winds direction are changing every couple of hours
When 2 clouds overlap, then the hex is in storm


Search
Halved chance to detect in a cloud hex
No chance in a storm hex
An airstrike ha bless chance to contact its target in a cloud hex and no chance in a storm hex


Battle
No battle in a storm hex
AA halved 
A2S factors halved except for torpedo-bombers
A2G factors halved for strategic bombers
Less chance to hit in air-to-air combat


Movement
No air units may move into a storm hex
Ships moves slower




Air Op in storm
No take-off 
No landing on CV
30% crash on airfield landing
Predictions for airstrikes should take the weather into account

How tha AI plot moves (espically air units) with weather effect, could be tricky.

Is weather optional?

Yes, that will be the trickiest part
The player will need some warning/forecast


I feel it could stay as an option along with the alternatives

I agree: it would be good if it were an option, not a permanent feature. If it's not too hard to do. (And NOTHING is too hard for you to do, Cyril.) Confused
