In CS and Midway, if the opponennt force unload sufficient points, currently, the airfield remains operatable by player side. I think this does not quite make sense.  I think by then, the airfield should either be inop or turned. Any surviving aircrafts on it will be taken as destroyed.

It may take days or even weeks (New Georgia for instance) to conquer the airfield 
But yes this could be doable

I think disable the field should be fine.

But look at what happened to Guadalcanal.  Invasions can be repelled. The game does not take into account defenders already on the island. But your comment does make more sense when it comes to small islands like Midway.  But even in Midway’s case they had two island with airfields.

Think about New Georgia too.  2month to take the airfield

Actually no airfield in the scope fo the game has been invaded in history in few hours.
Henderson Field was not completed
